The Five Love Languages

I'm very late to read this book, five years in fact. The good news is, this book is a applicable today as when Mr. Chapman wrote it.

I learned tons about myself, and my loved ones, and what languages we speak. It effected the way I looked at people and the world, and how I responded to them.

I took the quiz to learn my love languages and I am bilingual. I took the spouse quiz and then had my spouse list their answers. What I thought my spouse would answer and the actual answers turned out to be different. I still have much to learn about my spouse after all this time. And that knowledge was more than worth the inspiring read.

4 Years Trapped in My Mind Palace

This book is brilliant!

I've had this book on my TBR shelf for years and finally decided to crack it open. I shouldn't have waited so long. From the first word to the last, Mr. Twiss creates a world like no other. Every detail is perfectly crafted and researched and kept me turning pages, desperate to find out what would happen next. Every chapter ended on a hook.

The characters were lifelike and relatable, painted with emotional depth. Everyone should be as lucky as Aaron and Sol to find such a friendship.

Don't delay, read today.

I was paralyzed—trapped in my own mind. The friendship of a crazy old man was my way out.

14-year old Aaron Greenburg is trapped in a vegetative state. He's awake and aware of everything around him, but the doctors don't realize it. After being placed in a care facility, he receives a new roommate--an old eccentric jazz musician with dementia. When Aaron talks in his mind to stay sane, the old man hears his thoughts and replies. But no one believes the old man because they think he's crazy. And when the old man thinks he's living in the past with his dementia episodes, it pulls Aaron into those moments in time and he gets to experience 1920's New York City, getting into a scuffle with the mob in a Chicago nightclub, fighting in World War II, and much more as the two develop an unlikely and unique friendship.
